visual colour artist
Mandy Collins Visual Colour Artist working with resin, silk and photography, specialising in abstract. Colour has a dramatic effect on our emotions, it alters how we feel, it can bring back memories of moments in time. For me, the sea featured highly while growing up, from the clear turquoise waters of North Africa to the deep winter green of the Irish Sea. Summers spent on Anglesey with the bright blue July days when the sun is warm and high and the water gleams, evenings are orange and red in the sunset, nights are emerald and black with glints of light in the waves. Much of my art is influenced by seascapes around Rhosneigr, Anglesey. At home I love to visit gardens and the wide open spaces of the Peak District, Derbyshire. Many of my photos give me the inspiration to create very vibrant pieces, sometimes just a single flower and sometimes a fabulous riot of colour!
