Soak up the Barnaby Festival atmosphere with a vibrant and exciting piano recital performed by Matthew Kam, held in the most appropriate of spaces, a piano restoration workshop!
Originally from Borneo this engaging young pianist has been hailed by The Evening Telegraph, “Pianist Matthew Kam…brightens up lunchtime” and that is exactly what he will do as one of the many musical events that are happening over the Barnaby Festival.
Matthew Kam won first prize in the Australian National Piano Award in 2004 and performs regularly with violinist Jonathan Martindale and other esteemed musicians working for the Hallé and BBC Philharmonic orchestras in Manchester.
The Barnaby recital which will feature pieces from Fauré, Sonny Chua and Rachmaninoff and is one of a 3 part Schulze Pollmann Piano Recital series taking place at Shackleford Pianos in 2012. Each recital will coincide with an art exhibition at Marburae Gallery, which is also based at the piano workshop, to create a fusion of art, music and culture, epitomising what the Barnaby Festival is all about !
